A Flavour of “Local Traditions” savored one course each day at time
A Taste of Venetian Countryside Culinary Program is reserved for the guestes of Palazzo Gregorio & Palazzo Gregorio’s Cottage

The culinary experience begins with transfers from Marco Polo Venice Airport to Casa Gregorio. Benvenuti and check in at the new Venetian Casa Gregorio Palazzo, followed by a welcome aperitivo. After check-in, you set off on a guided walk that acquaints you with the medieval historical village of San Vito al Tagliamento. Following our walking tour, Casa Gregorio welcomes our guests to an early dinner in one of our dining rooms, concluding with an after-dinner coffee and liqueurs.
After a typical Italian breakfast at the Casa Gregorio FVG cappuccino bar, we set off to the town of Portogruaro, a historic town in the Veneto region of northern Italy, known for its well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture, canals, and watermills. We make a stop at a cheese factory to sample the northern delights. We then continue to the town of Spilimbergo, a historic medieval town in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northern Italy, famous for its well-preserved center, frescoed buildings, and the renowned Mosaic School of Friuli, where we enjoy lunch. Back to Casa Gregorio, at around 4 pm it is time to meet our Chef and start baking the local desserts of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, with dinner served at the Villa’s dining room.
After breakfast at Casa Gregorio, we set off for a drive to the seaside town of Trieste to visit Miramare Castle, a 19th-century castle on the Gulf of Trieste. Stroll the gardens and view the preserved culture of the ancient castle. We continue the coastal drive to the town’s port area, where we stop at the famous Eataly. Here, all of Italy’s food culture comes together for you to enjoy. With your Gift Card, you can choose where in Eataly to enjoy lunch while taking in the Adriatic water view. Upon return and a brief time for relaxation, our cappuccino bar opens for a pick-me-up cafe, and we begin our second cooking class where we prepare a Friuli Venetian four-course meal with our chef, followed by an enjoyable dinner with wine in Casa Gregorio’s dining room.
Breakfast at Casa Gregorio’s bar, followed by a visit to the “PROSCIUTTOFICIO” in the town of San Daniele (the Parma of Friuli Venezia Giulia), and there we have a lunch of fresh hand-cut prosciutto or porchetta. Upon our return to Casa Gregorio, with a short time to relax, we begin our hands-on cooking lesson number three with our chef, where you will prepare yet another four-course meal that you will then enjoy tonight at dinner with a great bottle of wine in Casa Gregorio’s dining room.
After breakfast at Casa Gregorio, we head off to visit the Benedictine Abbey of Santa Maria in Silvis with its Venetian influence. Afterwards, we visit a winery in Grave del Friuli region in Italy, famous for its FRIULI WINES, PROSECCO, AND AFTER DINNER SWEET WINES. You will have the opportunity to see one of their vineyards, visit the cellar and bottling plant, and learn the vinification process, ending with a wine tasting.
Afterwards, we continue our journey to a nearby town for lunch. In the afternoon, you will begin to prepare your Friuli Venetian four-course meal and the proper “Contorno” to accompany the main course. Dinner with wine follows.
Breakfast/Brunch today is served at our Cappuccino Bar. After breakfast, stroll the cobblestone streets and square of San Vito al Tagliamento, as today is the town’s local Farmers Market and shop, and participate in the weekly agricultural heritage of the town. This is a wonderful time to find that treasured memento to remember your visit with us. In the early afternoon, our Chef walks you through how to make the Perfect Pizza Dough, and at 5:00 pm, it is time for the Pizza Party, which concludes our culinary week together.
Your final day comes too soon, but it is time to have breakfast, gather up your newly acquired cooking skills, pack your bags, and travel back to the airport. We hope you will be leaving with wonderful memories! The earliest flight scheduled for departure will determine the time you leave Casa Gregorio.
